PISA sells solutions to small and medium size businesses in a variety of industries, but our specialty is providing solutions to hospitality. Many of our team members have worked in hotels, and they understand the challenges faced by businesses that provide guest service. Although the technology in hospitality may be similar to that used in other industries, how we apply it in a hospitality setting may be different. That's where our hospitality experience provides added value.
Bed & Breakfast
A small bed & breakfast has two computers, a laser printer, and DSL Internet access. The two computers are part of a workgroup for sharing files and are connected by cable to the DSL gateway that came with the Internet service. The owners of the bed & breakfast would like to do the following:
- Deploy a small administrative wireless network so that they can set up a small front desk in an area of the bed & breakfast without cabling.
- Provide wireless Internet to their guests using their existing Internet connection.
- Implement off-site backups for their files.
Boutique Hotel
A boutique hotel has 150 workstations, 6 manager laptops, and 10 servers. They have two T1 Internet connections and have out-sourced their guest wireless to a third party. Since their property management system and point of sale system collect and store credit card data, the servers and computers that access the property management and point of sale applications are considered part of the cardholder data network under the PCI DSS standard and must be properly segmented. They would like to do the following:
- Deploy an administrative wireless network in their conference room and in the common areas for remote check-in.
- Comply with the network segmentation guidelines set forth by the PCI DSS standard.
- Implement bandwidth sharing and fail-over between the two T1 Internet connections.
- Implement secure remote access for their management team.
- Implement off-site backups for their laptops and all their critical data.
RV Park
An RV Park has six computers and one file server for their park management software. They have a cable modem for Internet access and have out-sourced their guest wireless to a third party. They would like to do the following:
- Deploy an administrative wireless network in the clubhouse and remove the unsightly cables that have been run along the walls.
- Address the problem with employees playing online games and loading up the computers with spyware.
- Implement off-site backups for their file server.
